Solar Electricity

Our professional team of installers can attach photovoltaic panels (PV) to your roof or mount them in your yard. These panels contain individual cells which are made of pure semiconductor grade silicon. PV cells convert the sun’s energy into DC electricity. This DC electricity is then converted to AC electricity, which then can be used in your home and/or fed back into the grid. Therefore, anytime the sun is shining you are generating clean, green electricity. This reliable, zero-emission electricity will offset your demand for fossil fuel generated power.
This electricity can be utilized for a number of applications:
- Grid Tied System
(PV system will be tied into the utility grid, allowing for “net metering”) - Battery Back-up System
(PV system electricity will be stored in an off-grid battery bank) - Bi-Modal System
(PV system is grid tied with battery back up) - Direct Power System
(PV system will directly operate equipment, i.e. water pump)
Solar Thermal
Similar to PV panels, solar thermal panels can be attached to your roof or mounted in your yard. These panels use the sun’s energy to preheat the domestic hot water in your house. This hot water can also be used to supplement forced air heating, pool heating and radiant floor heating. Solar thermal systems offer the most efficient conversion of solar energy and are the most popular renewable energy systems nationwide. A typical household in the Northeast can provide 70% of their families hot water needs using 2 thermal flat-plate collectors and an 80 gallon storage tank.
Many rebates are available throughout Massachusetts to help offset the installation costs of solar energy systems. Contact us for a free consultation to learn more about these programs.
